Lake Creek Youth Camp has immediate openings for a Cook. This is a full-time SEASONAL positions running from mid-May through the camp closure, usually around the end of September. These positions are an ideal situation for a couple as we have only one cabin available for living quarters although we can arrange additional living quarters.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Head Cook is responsible for planning and preparing meals and ordering food and supplies for groups ranging from 20 to 100 people, though most groups are in the 20 to 50 range. The Head Cook is assisted by other staff and volunteers. "Camp" cooking experience is helpful but not required. Anyone with experience cooking for groups or an interest in cooking is encouraged to apply. The Cook may also be asked to help out with other projects and duties between camps or with events where we don't do the cooking.
We are a friendly and easy-going group and we work at the camp because it's fun and we want to be here. For information about the Camp, visit our website at: "lakecreekcamp.org" and our "About Us" page.
The camp complement consists of three full-time positions, the Host/Caretaker, the cook, and the assistant. The Host/Caretaker and assistant assist the cook in the kitchen. We have one to two additional people helping out in the kitchen during larger camps.
We are an equal opportunity employer.
Send an email expressing your interest and outlining your experience to email@example.com or call Vicki Heckman at (541) 575-0660 or Susie Brown at (208) 731-8132. These positions are open until filled so call immediately if you are interested.
If you would like to volunteer we have a couple of options.
– Watch this website for an announcement of our annual Spring Clean-Up and Work Party to get the camp in shape for the coming season. This is usually in May.
– We accept volunteer help during camps for such things as kitchen help and grounds and facilities maintenance. If you are interested, send an email expressing your interest to firstname.lastname@example.org
